MVDN provides a homelike, nurturing environment filled with developmentally appropriate areas for children to explore and learn from naturally through hands on experiences. MVDN provides for natural exploration of curiosity in a child safe, adult supervised environment that enhances the acquisition and maturation of developmentally appropriate skills.
The children spend part of their day in groups of mixed ages to allow them to learn from one another. During the core of the day, the children are divided into homogenous groups: infants & toddlers, two & three year olds, four year olds & pre-kindergarten, kindergarten & school age. The children will learn from observatin of peers and role modeling. The children will also learn from verbal and demonstrated instruction. The day is filled with a balance of self selection and teacher directed activities that include: Indoor & outdoor time Fine motor activities Large motor activities Dramatic play Science explorations Arts & Crafts Shapes, sizes, math skills Show & Tell Structured projects American Sign Language Spanish Cooking Quiet time & naptime Music & instruments Story time, literacy & language Letter recognition & writing skills Social studies & multicultural themes Weekly Themes Games Technology
We serve children ages 6 weeks through 11 years old. We accept children on a space available basis regardless of race, color, creed, age, gender & ethnic background.
The specially trained MVDN staff work together using a holistic approach to build the children's self image and cognitive skills. Our structured environment enables children to comfortably make decisions and problem solve. We work on positive communication, life skills and social skills to help children become active, productive members of society who are able to work together in groups as well as independently.
